I am a student and gamer in Portland, OR, interested in video and computer games, history and whiskey. Down the Wall is a personal gaming blog I started in July of 2007 focusing on storytelling in video games.

I own a Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, PlayStation, Game Boy Advance, GameCube, Xbox, PlayStation 2, Xbox 360, and a decent gaming PC. My favorite games are The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Baldur’s Gate II, Chrono Trigger, Rome: Total War, and Super Mario World

About This Site

I had three tenets in mind when creating this site:

1. To write journalistically about games and gaming three days a week.
2. To post worthy posts — focused and in-depth game reviews, meaningful and detailed commentary, and well-researched and thoroughly explained analysis. Too many sites have nothing but a link, a quote, and a one line quip, which is appropriate in some places but not for my tiny outfit.
3. To fully report and explain every article without excessive use of links, which break up the flow of a post and lead the reader on a wild goose chase. It’s against the writer’s best interest and evidence of shoddy reporting.
